International Year of Astronomy MISSION PATCH WOOMERA ROCKET LAUNCH This year is a celebration of the United Nations International Year of Astronomy. We want you to design your own space mission patch to express how astronomy can help us discover new worlds, and to help us learn about our self and our own planet. Send us your design and we will fly it in 2009.
Like all missions into space, your dreams for space need its own scientific mission patch or logo. The Australian Space Research Institute, European Council of International Schools, Scouts Australia, Space Qualified LTD and RMIT University offer a unique opportunity for all students to design their own space mission patch and to launch it to the very edge of space in a dedicated Zuni rocket from the famous Woomera Rocket Range in Australia’s remotest Outback. You can find support images and links in http://www.genedorr.com/patches/. All complete entries received on time are space flown and will receive a special commemorative certificate.
YOUR MISSION PATCH must be drawn within a 100 mm diameter circle on a A4 sheet of paper. Use poster paint, water colour or felt pens, pastels (don’t for get to seal it) or any media enjoy it: Be imaginative.
